amazing first quilt..you deserve a medal just for having the courage to do a quilt like that as your first effort..and then another for it turning out so wonderfully. From someone who hasnt got the courage but will one day! :thumbup:

Very pretty and I like your colors. I hate pale colors except for babies. Made my first when I was about 17. I look back now, man it was awful. When I retired after I had discs surgery on my neck my mother gave me all her material stash, books and tools and Lord knows what else. I saw a throw for some Texas colleges and decided hey I can do that. After searching for it seemed like months I finally found the right color of maroon for Texas A & M. I made my son a queen size quilt in the Irish Chain and on the solid white squares I appliqued aTm. It turned out really nice but I can go back and see how much my quilting has improved since I under took this job. Keep this quilt for yourself and use it to see how much you have improved after you do several. I think I have made close to 20 quilts since I started. Keep up the good work.
