I bought this old, scrappy, hand pieced top and I just love the fabrics. The seller said the pattern is Kansas Dugout . I want to put a border on it. I have a big stash to choose from but I can't decide what to use. I like the blue blender but I'm also thinking about using white. Any ideas? What would you use?

I would look for a fabric of the same vintage as the quilt. Your blue blender is beautiful, but it looks like a newer fabric to me. Maybe a 30's fabric would suit it better? Or even a solid color that matches one of the fabrics inside?

I agree with both dakotamaid and dunster, a thin white, followed by a blue. Your blue blender does look lovely, but for this project I would go a solid as dunster suggested. Lovely quilt by the way.

I see a purple 30's it the blocks. I would take my time and look for just the right fabric, probably 1930's as that is what it looks like is in the quilt.
Beautiful find!
