Default old spools

Thank you to sxboyer for the spools! Your surprise package will go in the mail tomorrow. Hopefully, everyone can see the writing on the spools! Very interesting. Some say that the thread can be boiled! I put the spools in this jar "bird feeder" that I bought at a craft sale.

This is a water feeder for new born baby chicks. What a wonderful antique you have.

I used to find and save old wood spools, thinking there must be SOMEONE out there who wanted them... finally tossed them a couple years ago. Never thought to ask y'all in here!!

I love what you did to display your spools. Mine are in an old canning jar.

Wow - how wonderful you have these where you can enjoy them. Inherited a group of similar sewing items from my Grandmother, who passed at 99 years old in 1982; some are silk threads. Am currently using self-threading needles from her collection!!!! to bury loose threads on my machine quilting....always think of her when I use these, she sewed her dressed completely by hand as a child -- no sewing machines in her early life, my sister has her treadle, she never owned an electric machine.
