If you have ever made your own Garden Flag, what and where did you get the material. I've read that spun polyester 2 ply is best but I have no idea where to get it.
Attached is a picture of a shower curtain I made to match a quilt. Should have been making them all along to match quilts I make for others. New applique too. Now on to the Garden with a little help from my quilting friends.

You can buy flag nylon at JoAnns and probably Hancocks.

Has anyone ever made one out of oil cloth? I can't see how that would work. When I made mine I machine appliqued and then cut away the backing so the design showed through on both sides. The oil cloth has a "net type" backing on it and I don't think you could applique on it very well. Just my thoughts. Maybe you have in mind something entirely different that what I am thinking about. Let us know how it works out if you do use oil cloth.

I have used kite nylon. Some of the kite manufacturers sell material so people can design and make kites and some intensely amazing banners. I think I got stuff from Into The Wind years ago (and that stash is lost in the basement mess at the moment).

and seeing these is why I ordered the rip-stop nylon. I wanted to make some of my own!
