Our March 1st. quilt class was a class on Eleanor Burns "Orion's Star" block. I made a couple little fabric color changes where I used the dark burgundy in the light fabric area but here it is. It was so fun and easy and I love the quilt. Just have to finish the sashing, sandwich it and quilt it....but the TOP is done!

Beautiful quilt. The colors are beautiful. What will you use for the sashing and binding.

I think I'll use a stip of the light, a stip of both the print green and the burgundy and will pick up the other light color right next to the star for the binding ...that's what I'm thinking right now but I change things around as I lay them out.

As it hangs in the picture, it is 48 inches by 64 inches. Each block is 16 inches square.

I've toyed with the idea of adding another row or two to make it big enough for a full-sized bed but I made it out of scrap/left over fabric and I just didn't have enough of make it any larger. Some of the fabric is still available at Joann's but my center star fabric was gifted to me in a bag of scraps so I don't know where I'd ever find a like piece. What you see is pretty much what it'll be with the added sashing and binding to add a bit more size to the whole thing. It'll work as a couch snuggle quilt or on a twin bed . Haven't had a twin bed in this house in 40 years so guess couch snuggler is what it will be.

Thank you all for the nice compliments.
