Several years ago I made a rail fence quilt for a friend. I had no idea how to figure yardage or how many blocks I needed so I had quite a few leftover. I put them away and pretty much forgot about them. When I cam across them recently I decided they'd make a nice quilt for my Mom since her favorite color is blue. Since there weren't enough for the whole top I split the blocks diagonally and re-set them on point, then framed them with blue sashing. Still need to add the borders. What do you think?

How very cleaver, your doing a good job. I admire how people can make something completely different than the original pattern...

This is great and I like that you repurposed leftover blocks into another beautifu quilt! Your mother will love this.
