Default Paddington Bear Quilt and Puzzle Ball

I thought you might like to see what I have been up to. This is the last Christmas Present for this year (apart for my sister's handbag which she will get in the New Year).

This is for the baby that my sister is fostering at the moment. It is a matching quilt and puzzle ball. I have put some bells and a squeeker into the ball for him to play with.

Once this is wrapped and sent (tomorrow morning) then THAT IS IT!!! No more sewing until the new year... well... maybe... just a little bit more...

I saw one at the Harrogate Quilt Show, and didn't feel like spending out vast amounts of money for a pattern. It is just made up of half circles and elipse shapes. I kind of made it up as I went along, using some online instructions, a wierd tutorial, and a bit of trial and error.

Glad you like it.

I think you did an amazing job figuring out the puzzle ball, and the quilt is lovely. I want to make some too, and found this pattern free on the web - http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=102581.0 I don't know if it's the same as the one you made.

Thank you all for your lovely comments.

I have had a few comments about the puzzle ball. Dunster, it is a bit different to the one in the link you gave me, although I like the Amish one, and might well have a go at it another time.

Although it will be too late for Christmas, I will be doing two more in the new year, for two friends that are expecting new babies. When I make them, I will take photos and try and get a tutorial together for those that might be interested.

I hope that this little one enjoys his present, and can take his quilt with him when he moves on from her foster care later next year.
