I LOVE the Blocks painted on barns. I would almost build a barn just to paint a block on it. =) Since that's not really practical I did the next best thing. I found a piece of board in the garage and went to town. The black lines are actually cardstock paper that I cut 1/4" and glued on. I'm going to cover it with a good coat of varnish and then have the hub mount it on some posts and stick it in the ground. Haven't decided if I want to put our name on it in the space at the bottom or have it just say "Quilt" in some really pretty letters. Either way its going to be pretty and it will make me so happy to see it out in the yard every time I come home. =)

Very cool, you've done a great job. I have asked my husband to make a few...Our house is painted white and there is a wall that is quite expansive that is just calling out for a couple of these.

Lovely! Great idea - please make a sample and check that the cardstock won't bleed when varnished.
