So, when I first had some fabric samples made, I had the Tossed Tiny Shoes in black and white on a black background. For this custom fabric company, it's impossible to get a true black on 100% cotton. Poly...oh yeah..but not cotton. I also wanted to see the weight of the 6 ounce cotton...good for purse (or home dec), not for quilts. So I ended up with a yard of charcoal color background.
I also ordered something called Soft n Stable...interfacing specifically meant for purses and totes. Really nice stuff!! Easy to work with. Wanted to make a kind of large size purse, especially to carry to the East Cobb Quilt Show this past weekend. ta da!

Love the shoe fabric. Like the red rings also. Those rings are expensive--wish I could find a reasonable place to purchase them

I know, the rings were $10.95, but I used a 40% off at Joann's. They are dear and it took all 8 to make this!! It cost me nearly $30 for all supplies!! But....I love it! It took me HOURS to put in the grommets. With the 1/8 inch foam interfacing, it was difficult to cut through three layers. I marked the circles from the template, then hand sewed around the outside of the marks...then cut out the centers layer by layer, before inserting the grommets. That part was easy on a firm surface!

You ought to "paint" the shoes on this quilt! Then it would truly be yours!

Do you mean I should paint the black and white shoes on the purse? If I wanted to have a purse with colored shoes, I would have used that fabric...the one with the colored shoes.
