Paisley Fabric Sample Quilt
#1
I realized that while I do a lot of admiring of everyone's gorgeous quilts on this forum, I've shied away from posting photos of my own. I started quilting four years ago - had no idea what I was doing, but that didn't stop me, LOL. I am a completely undiciplined quilter. Anyway, here is a quilt that I made for my niece from paisley fabric samples I found at an estate sale. It is predominantly brown, but for some reason the other colors pop in the photos.
The binding is a ripply mess. I had just gotten my first embroidery machine and went a little nuts with all sorts of random messages along the edges. I wanted to re-do it, but she loved it and grabbed it away!
She is very ill with a rare form of leukemia and spends several nights each week in a hyperbaric chamber. This was meant as a comfort quilt, but the silly woman hung it over her fireplace!

Beautiful quilt! Its amazing what they are doing with hyperbaric chambers these days. I burned my hand really bad and was sure I would have horrible scars when it healed. The doctors put me in a hyperbaric chamber for 1 hr 3 days in a row and my hand was completely healed with no sign of a scar anywhere by the end of that week. It was like a miricle. I pray it helps your niece to heal too!
