My friends are saving me their chicken feed bags and horse feed bags. I can't wait to get them to make into totes!

We are trying to buy a trailer to haul all of our stuff around. I've been saving some of the fancier pet food bags that people give us to make these bags as a fundraiser. They are made from a woven plastic. They took a half yard of fabric to line and 2 yards of webbing for the handles. Need to figure out how to put a pocket in them.
What a nice thing to do, good luck with your fund raising!
I don't know where you get your webbing - - - BUT if you have an Army Surplus store around check them out (if you don't already get that stuff donated to you). I think I paid around 50 cents/yd. for the 1-1/2" width - I stocked up and it's been 6 mos or more so am not exactly sure of the price, but I know it was a lot less than the fabric store! They had about 6 or 7 different colors, some cotton and some synthetic, and, as I recall, about 3 different widths.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip! I've been getting mine at Wallile World which is super expensive. Couple of folks have given me belts that I've used too.

What a creative idea! I love recycling anything -- it comes from growing up with thrifty parents. Funny how recycling is now the "in" thing, isn't it? What a wonderful thing for you to spend your time helping the PetFood Bank in this way. May your tribe increase.

Ahhhh, yes, belts! Thrift store is great place for those - I find the cotton braided/woven ones quite often and on half price day I only pay 50 cents!
