I've never posted a picture of any of my quilts. Just thought I would let you see this top. As you can tell Im still learning.

I have one similar that I started a looonnng time ago. Mine didn't have sashing and I see how badly it does need sashing after looking at yours. Very nice. Keep up the good work.

How beautiful! That quilt is on my list of things to do. The pattern I have doesn't have sashing though. I think your sashing makes it! Very pretty! Fun fabrics too! Make more!

My favorite quilt pattern. Perhaps that is because one does not need a pattern. I usually do not use sashing. My thinking is that the sashing would not be the same weight as the blocks. I always use a base to sew the strips onto. Also, there is the fact that the purpose of a string quilt is to use u p all those long narrow strips left over from other projects. I've alway s considered my string quilts to be utility quilts, not heirlooms, but maybe it depends on the recipient.

I think you did a great job. I really like the way the blue sashing defines your blocks. I like it!
