I posted about these retirement quilts for 4 of my school faculty. Here they are after they received their gifts. THe green one did not plan to retire and did not know she was going to. She was basically forced out by a shuffle in our faculty for next year. I like that she got a different quilt - she's a dear friend of mine. The other three had not planned to retire at their current ages, but knew earlier in the year that they would be leaving. A friend and I got the fabric bundles at the Houston International Quilt Festival - our school colors are red and white and this was close enough! When it came out in the local newspaper it was in black and white so you couldn't tell they were different. To show you the size of our town - the paper comes out twice a week.

I made the two on the right, my friend made the two on the left. I bound them all and she sewed all the labels on. Teamwork!

Very pretty, all 4 of them. So nice of you and your friend to make them in recognition of the teachers.
