The Black& White looks like it must have been made by - can't remember her name. She used to live in Saudia Arabia, but she's English and is back in England. She's won MANY awards. Crap - why can't I remember her name? She designs by making a real-size drawing and making paper templates from it. Then she FMQs. She's a real artist in so many ways.

Although, now after looking more closely at the quilting, it LOOKS like a different style of FMQ.

THANK YOU!!!!!

You got the four sisters, which was one of my favorites. The quilt is even more awesome in real life. though your photos are very good.

Anyone else get pictures? I would so love to see photos of those nature scene quilts. (which inspired what follows)

I got my show guide and googled the names of some of these, and they're on the web! So here are links:

Open Season was my top favorite, the one I would have voted on if I'd known I could vote: http://www.englanddesign.com/gallery/openseas.htm
The picture doesn't at all do it justice.

Crossing Calamity Creek was one of my favorites. This photo doesn't begin to do it justice - it's not all shadowy the way it looks here. It is totally worth the $12,000 price, and if I had the money, I'd buy it. http://www.kathymcneilquilts.com/qui..._for_sale.html

Longing for the Past http://www.nancyprince.com/Quilt_Gallery.html
Scroll down to the winter scene, that's the one, and mouse over it to enlarge it.

Nebraska's Rising Sun http://nsqg.org/raffles.html Again, you have to scroll down to see it.

Cool Camels of Egypt was one of the funnest ones in the show, IMO. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2197/...2084f7.jpg?v=0

I loved this one and the story behind it, that the artist paints other artists at their work, so this woman quilted his portrait.

Morning Visitor http://www.quiltfest.com/activities_detail.asp?id=44
You have to scroll wayyy down to see this one, but all the others on the way are worth seeing, too.

Sugar maples & Nose Stickers http://www.vqf.org/images/2009winners/413-MachEmb.jpg

Remembrance (this pic is just a detail of it) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_QgAunQmFlM.../njquilt14.jpg

An Alphabet http://www.quiltfest.com/activities_detail.asp?id=79 Again, must scroll to see.

Seasonal Sisters http://www.handiquilter.com/educator...adors/hgodden/
The picture doesn't show the amazing stitchery of the background, which acutally dazzled me more than the [quilt picture itself.

I'd best stop now. Hope you enjoyed them!

another great quilt show/trip, right here in my chair.
I love them all. Thank you for the close up of the cherubs with the silk ribbon embroidery.
I love the four women, the dynamics of the black and white, the mother and children...
Like a smorgasboard. I know you thoroughly enjoyed yourself!
THANK YOU! :D

Thanks so much for sharing! You took a great variety of styles, and they are stunning, but the one that pulled at my heartstrings was the four sisters. It could have been my grandmother and 3 of her sisters sitting on Aunt Em's porch in Pennsyvania when we would go visit each summer.

I felt the 4 sisters could have been my grandma and her sisters - or her friends sitting on a porch in SD.

Absolute eye candy! I thought the sister on the far right looked just like my grandmother!
