Pieces of a Niemeyer
This is my first Judy Niemeyer pattern and I've always wondered how hard they are to do. So far it hasn't been hard at all, simple straight paper piecing. I've also wondered how they go together and here's for those who have thought about doing one and wondered too.
There are 4 different types of border blocks, 4 of each type need to be made (16 total): Border1-Left, Border1-Right, Border2-Left, and Border2-Right. This picture is the 4 Border1-Left blocks and one of the Border1-Right blocks in the upper left. They are mirror images of each other.

Yep, working on one part at a time also helps with keeping things in order. I did the center, then the big star points, now doing 4 border pieces at once. I don't get messed up and I have all the fabric pieces laid out in order. (Except that one in the upper right where I somehow got two oranges near each other).
There are 6 different dark fabrics and each one appears twice in each section. It's totally up to you where they go on most of them.

Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely not a PP fan, but when I look at a quilt from one of her patterns, I try to figure it out. It's nuts, I know, but to me part of the fun of looking at quilts is figuring them out. This is something to store in my head for the next show I attend.

Been sewing off and on today and only have 3 more darks left to do on each of the Border1-Right blocks. Will take a break from doing the borders and put together the center and star point sections next.
