Default Pillows and Coathangers from Scraps/Offcuts

Just thought I'd share some projects I put together using scraps/offcuts from a quilt I made for my Mum last year. The pansy pillow was the first - it has a quilted background, appliqued pansy and the junctions of the quilt lines have small clear glass crystals stitched on. I also embellished the pansy with a few Swarovski amethyst crystals. The basket of flowers was the second....managed to use up heaps of triangle offcuts to make the big flowers, a pile of Yoyos and lots of vintage buttons (I have inherited the family button collection Great gran/Nan/Mum's combined). From a couple of fat quarters and some purchased heart buttons I managed to cover/embellish 3 coathangers for my little sister. Good thing about this is the only purchases I made were the crystals, 3 heart buttons and the polyfill (I made my own pillow forms). Mum was really pleased with the pillows and I have promised one more to complete "the look" (she has them on her bed along with the quilt.

I love the coat hangers. I found some at a thrift store but it was made using strips of fabric and braiding it around the hanger and tied in a bow at the top. Did you have a pattern for your hangers?
