Default From Sweetly Old-fashioned to Ultra-modern

Here are two quilt tops I've been working on recently. Different styles, but that just confirms I am addicted to fabric and quilt-making.

The first is called Granny Squares, which appeared in American Patchwork and Quilting magazine; the second is called Prism in the Forest, adapted from Stony Creek by Jinny Beyer.

I don't have recipients in mind for either quilt - yet. I just love piecing and finding ways to put fabrics together. Maybe will give the second to my son's girlfriend, as she likes purple.

I love both of them but I think I like the granny squares one better. It's given me an idea to use up all the squares I cut from my scraps!

Love them both - but I quess I lean towards the traditional look. What size squares in the Granny Squares?

Both are fantastic! I also find myself drawn towards different styles. It feels good to stretch and do something different. Besides I find my gift recipients have really varied tastes. Beautiful work!
