Default Please share your neutral / earth-tone batik quilts

I need some inspiration! My physical trainer is leaving. I want to make him a quilt as a thank you for helping me break through the exercise barrier. He loves browns and neutrals. When I looked at my stash, I realized I didn't have a lot, so I um... went and bought (online) a variety of earth-tone/neutral batiks. Now I'm hemming and hawing about what I'll actually make. What have you done with earth-tone/neutral batiks?

Thanks!

My son who is probably in the age range with your trainer, loved his sister's Carpenter Star. It's not quite neutral, but could be as long as your fabrics have some contrast.

Hmmm ... wish I could remember the details. Someone posted a pattern yesterday that she was going to make using Northcott Stonehenge. The pattern she showed was very pretty in earth tones.

Let me see if I can find it.

Got it!

There is a link to the pattern she is using in her thread. "Quiltwoman" something.

this is not batiks but a great netural quilt. I just quilted it for a friend. It is real easy, based on 6 inch squares.

These are all lovely. Thanks. And I love the quilting on both of those posted here. And irishrose, I love the use of the "braid" as a border. I've seen the braid used as the primary focus of a quilt (often a table runner) and it never moved me. But I *love* it as a border. Thanks for that inspiration, too!
