So much love in all that hand stitching. I've followed your journey with this quilt, and am so glad you finished it for Christmas. It is so lovely, and your grandma will be absolutely overjoyed to receive it.

thanks dunster. from my first question about low contrast/low volume quilts to late night panics about poorly planned border quilting, this one owes a whole lot to qb

It is flat-out gorgeous! The color choices are just lovely and the quilting is amazing. Have a kleenex box handy when you give it to her!

Large quilt with outstanding hand work. Love to see someone quilting by hand, did you use variegated thread??

no - just blue and green, in both hand quilting thread and perle cotton for the border.

i will try to avoid guterman hand quilting thread in the future. it knotted like crazy. such a pain in the butt.

also, time to start writing the needle manufacturers about creating a quilting needle for use with perle cottons. using the embroidery needles was pretty challenging too!

learned so much making this one
