I finally finished my 9 patch squares but am having trouble co-ordinating the squares so the colors and prints are not together, if I am making any sense. Also, what color of trim or border do you suggest?
    Thanks,
    JOY

maybe sort the blocks by the center row of colors. red, gray, white, gray blend, red print, white blend ect...it's sort of like sodoko... trying to get one of each block in each column/row without repeating.

I was trying not to repeat the colors and got very confused with myself.

This could be the perfect advertisement for having a design wall! I think the suggestion of setting the middle row and working out from there is actually pretty brilliant - I wouldn't have thought of that but it makes good sense.

Thank you! So, you think I have the squares pretty well co-ordinated? What color do you suggest for trim or border? I could not decide between black, cream or white. I figured red or gray was too much.

I would try a row with 2 reds then a row 1 red then another 2 red and another 1 red and so on. Center the 2 red squares and put the gray and other colors on the outside. Place the single red on the right end on one row and on the left end on their next row.

I also would not be afraid of a red border for the inside and black or white for the larger outside.

Nice squares. Good luck - pretty good advice given.

I was getting dizzy trying to 'lay it out' I'd have to be there to work it. However I would add black boarders around each square and then a thin boarder of the multi color fabric, then a black boarder and then a red binding? Just a thought.

I would think to try with the red ones first and lay them out as you might like to see them then from there I would work with the next lightest one and just keep going like that and see how it comes out.

I sure understand about the "dizzy" sensation. That is what was happening with me. The colors match really well but I could not decide on the border and binding colors. It was suggested use red border first then yellow. I thought, yellow? I figure that would really clash. My daughter says use black border. I am out of the multicolored fabric so, here I go again.
