Here are some pics of a quilt I finished up today that I made for myself. The pattern is called "Legacy Stars". The fabric is from the "Legacy" collection by moda and I used 2 layer cakes for the inner top and then selected coordinating fabrics from the collection for the border, backing, and binding. I did free-motion quilting on it, and it measures 64" x 82".

This is beautiful!! Now my question is, how do you keep it all organised for sewing it into rows? I can see it's a variation of the Indian Hatchet like Ninnie made. But yours is organized where hers is random.

Jenell, you're correct, this one was difficult to organize. The reason is that the star points extend onto the following row, and that row has star points from the row below it that extend upwards. So I had to make this one row at at time, laying out the pieces for the next row as I was doing it, and thinking about the row to follow as to where the dark star bodies would be. So it was like having to work on 3 rows at a time mentally, but sewing one row at at time. Then, of course, I had to keep all the pieces in order while piecing the rows and making sure that those with directional fabric (the stripes) were all oriented the same slanting way. It kept me on my toes!
