1st quilt off my frame
3 Attachment(s)
This is the 1st top that I FMQ'd on my Grace frame with my Juki machine. What a learning curve!! It has a ton of things I need to fix and I have to finish up the borders, but I think it turned out OK for my first one. It's for my friend Marianne who is from Montana; hence the embroidery designs of the Montana state tree, state bird and flower. I'll improve with practice...

I love your quilt! The blue looks so pretty with the other fabrics. I don't think I would have thought to include the blue, but I LOVE it!! Your quilting is fabulous! I love the trees and the moose :) Good job!!

You certainly are off to a great start.

I think you did an awesome job! I love it when I see first time frame quilts where the quilter actually spread their wings and flew by doing some very unique quilting. Your moose, pine trees and leaf border are outstanding and much more interesting than a meander. I purposely avoided doing meander when I first started frame quilting. As a result, my skills seemed to improve exponentially and I was doing feathers by my third quilt. I am confident you will also continue to improve. Your first shot looks pretty great!

Wonderful Montana design! I love the motifs you picked out for your quilting! Thanks so much for sharing, it seems I have "soaked" in so much info and so many tips from the fact that everyone is willing to share their work.

You will gain more confidence in your work also as you do more. You will relax which makes your stitching automatically smoother. It looks good to me as it is. Congrats on the machine. I hope you have a great time using it .
