GK are having a school fundraiser tomorrow night. Promised a table mat for each class. The girls (K and 2nd grade) choose the colors and fabrics for theirs; 4th grader didn't care-typical boy!

Red Stars, Kindergarten
Candy Hearts, 2nd grade
Chocolate Stars, 4th grade
Now to clean up!!! I've been on a deadline.

How fun that you had the Grands involved in the selection process.
Won't be long til you have them doing the sewing too!! :)
It's hard to pick my favourite, as theyre all so nice ... I think this time I'd zero in on the red!

These will be highlights at the school fundraiser.

ChildoftheUniverse 01-27-2012 10:22 AM

Why do they all remind me of chocolate covered cherries! Like them a lot.

stichinluvr 01-27-2012 10:23 AM

What a wonderful grandma you are! They'll be proud to tell all their friends you made them.

oksewglad 01-27-2012 01:19 PM

Oh thanks everyone. This was fun for me to do. I had the designs laid out in EQ and the girls had a fun time picking fabrics. The K'er kept asking me, "Gram, have you started on my quilt yet?" The 2nd grader will be so pleased that so many of you like her hears. Last night she placed the QST's just where she wanted them.
bubble951- they are around 18 inches square. All blocks whether hearts or 9P's are finished 3" squares.

Really cute.

The girls and I just got back from the auction. Total proceeds for the school on these three were $435 with the red one selling the highest. I thought if they brought $25 each I would be happy, needless to say I'm more than happy.

dublb 01-28-2012 07:21 PM

Oh Wow! That's great!

Terrific!
I bet your Grands were thrilled to see them sell so well.

And now Missy ... what did you purchase? :)
(knowing that one donates and then goes and supports the cause with a purchase too!)

kwiltkrazy 01-28-2012 09:27 PM

Gladdie, as always fantastic. What lucky GK's.

Thanks, L! Elise (6 yo) wanted to know how many $ I had because she wanted it back! What does that say, other than I have to make her one!

QE, I passed. $125 pies are just a little rich for me!! Yes it was a great fundraiser.

Yeppir!! but fun to watch it all happen. If it's like the ones in our community, people look at it as the donation, not the actually item they are getting. And too, there's always some scamming and scheming .... where two people go at it, convinced they are not letting the other person get it. Or that a group pools resources just to see the other person sweat it out, thanks to their seemingly unlimited resources.

Makes for some mighty good entertainment!

dublb 01-29-2012 09:10 AM

It sounds like fun was had by all!:)

LeslieFrost 02-06-2012 07:36 PM

Wow, what a G'ma! You'll be famous at that school for raising money!

I love the pic of the mess left after sewing to a deadline -- looks very familiar....

mummadee 02-07-2012 05:48 AM

They're all great, but #2 is my absolute favorite. Love the combination of brown and pink, even better than blue and yellow.

KathyKat 02-07-2012 09:16 AM

Very pretty! I bet the GK's are happy and proud. They should sell fast.

oksewglad 02-09-2012 02:40 PM

Thanks again, but may have gotten myself into trouble as we have 9 GK and there could be a waiting line for G'ma's sewing!

Tartan 02-09-2012 04:53 PM
