Wonderful use of scraps. I always feel as though scraps are free. I paid for the fabric for a project and the scraps are left overs so they are kind of free. And any project I get out of them is free.

Most of them have been worked into quilts but there was a pile of castoffs that got passed over through the various sortings and pairings. Using the rule of small pieces for ugly fabric I paired them with black and made them into 4-patches. With no particular pattern in mind, there they sat until I came across Bonnie Hunter's Patches and Pinwheels pattern. I added HST and additional 4-patches from my scraps and this is what I came up with. Just finished the top yesterday. It isn't pressed and doesn't have borders but I wanted to share. I'm calling it gemstones.
