I have a personal goal to make 12 quilt tops in 2009. I only have a month left and 3 of them are not totally complete. One needs two border sides done, another needs the applique finished and then borders, another has two rounds of borders to do. I have a mental block about doing borders that I find it very difficult to get past!!

I'm going to try my best to get them done before the end of the year. I have lots of things I want to try in 2010 and would like these to be all behind me and get them quilted by an LAQ.

Pam, those are amazing!!!! Not only have you almost met your goal but you did it with patterns that are not the easiest. I am so impressed and inspired. My goal is to do at least 12 quilts this coming year and I hope mine turn out at least half as good as yours. Kudos! (And how do I get on your Christmas list?)

If you are interested in learning more about borders, I highly recommend Marsha McCloskey's book "Pieced Borders: The Complete Resource" and Sally Collin's book "Borders, Bindings, & Edges." I can't begin to tell you how much those books have changed the way I do my borders. My borders used to be boring and were something I just couldn't seem to wrap my mind around until my friend loaned me those 2 books. I'll post the link to their websites, in case you are interested.

Wow...those are amazing. I have made that same goal for 2010 but my tops will be no where near that intricate. You do wonderful work! You should be proud.

What beautiful quilt tops. I feel the same way about borders, all that math if you want to do something different and stunning! I really struggle with math, it almost kept me out of quilting!
That is great way to get those tops done. I need to set a goal like that too!
Thanks for posting, would love to see them more closely...PLEASE

I'm with you, not a math whiz! You should see the shocked looks I get when someone uses some fancy math term like hypotenuse and I look confused.
