thank you everyone!! And Amanda thanks you! We just got back from taking her home (across the mountains). We took the other pillowcases to the other grandchildren (14 down to 5) and they ALL loved them!!! So, yeah, GREAT christmas gift!

that is great. this last Christmas i made pillowcases for my niece and nephews out of different age related material for each. Then I bought new pillows for them and gave them as Christmas presents. They loved them. They take them to there friends house when they sleepover and also in the car on a road trip. Each has their own special one

Well, yesterday, I got fed up with the tv on, told her to help me. She helped with the first one, I helped her with the 2nd one and she did the rest by herself!!! She even threaded the sewing machine by herself! This is a child they say is "slow", has ADD....uh huh.....she just needed a SEWING MACHINE!! ;) I'm so proud of her I could bust a seam!!! She's coming back this summer to make a quilt!

How wonderful for you Grandma and what beautiful work your granddaughter did.

I know as a Grandma, I want more than anything to have at least my granddaughters learn how to sew and to love to sew. Right now, I only have 2, one is 12 and the other is 2. The 12 year old loves crafts of all sorts and loves to hand stitch everything.

You have a lot to be proud of. Continued blessings to you.

Congratulations on jumping that hurdle!

Hopefully this will ignite more sparks for her!

Search "burrito pillowcase" for the directions/tutorial. I taught it at our quilt group. Everyone was hooked! For the One Million Pillowcase challenge you make your pillowcase and donate it wherever you want. Log on to allpeoplequilt.com and post how many you donated. It's as simple as that!
