Anne's quilt and a quilting experiment

Anne made the darling top with the wool applique. The herringbone in the fabric is so cute in the flower pots. I wanted to keep the "tone " of her quilt but was having problems with her blocks with 1" squares. I made flowers by making a feathered ring with crosshatching, free motion, no rulers, in the center. They are classic but not too formal.

The second is my "homework" from the Design It, Quilt It class from Craftsy.com. I was trying the rings and feather done as if it is behind the butterfly and also the pebbles in the outer part among the McTavishing. I have really enjoyed this class. It has given me the courage to start doing large wholecloths. But I am working my way up.

The flower pot quilt is very cute ... love your butterfly quilt!

Was the butterfly done on a domestic or a long arm??

I love the vibrant colors of the wool! If I ever do it--now I know what to use. You made a stunning quilt!
