since i am a firm believe we need to reuse and make every effort to keep our items out of the oceans and landfills -- i try to make every effort to use as much of the product as possible
i use the larger end of the men's neckties to make a table topper -- they go very nicely on our round oak dining tables -- the smaller ends of the ties go nicely as a topper for coffee or end tables this winter i hope to use all the center portions of the ties to begin making a crazy quilt |
How nice is that. good job.

So where do you get your ties? Are they silk or do you use others like poly and rayon? These turned out very nice. Have been thinking about doing this but ties are expensive and the ones I like are always stained.

hi
i find most of the ties at the goodwill outlets -- the outlets sell by the pound and i can usually find at least 50 very nice ties for under $5.00 -- find your nearest goodwill outlet -- not the store but the outlet -- place on your grunge clothes and a viser to keep the hair out of your eyes as you dig through the bins i use every type of tie from silks to cottons to homemades -- if the material trips my trigger -- into my cart is goes |
Great Idea.
