I was able to go to the High Desert Museum, Bend, Oregon last summer and discovered they were having an antique quilt show!!! It was their LAST day! All the quilts were from the 1800s and the woman managing it said the quilts were more than likely made by/for some wealthy families. The fabrics were beautiful and colorful and very detailed! Some in the pictures are in cases, they were too delicate to hang.
To save space on this forum, I've included a link to my album .......I sure hope it works! LINK |

They are beautiful. It's always the amount of quilting in antique quilts that just blows me away. All hand quilted. Amazing.

I LOVE antique quilts, too, and you were so fortunate to get in on the last day to see these. Thank you so much for sharing---they were spectacular!!!

Thanks so much for sharing this.
I noticed that MANY of them had the word "circa" next to the description. Makes me wish I had put labels on my earlier works. |
thanks for sharing this! I hadn't heard of the quilt show, or I'd have been there!
