I have a new darling nephew that I am making a quilt for. He was named after the city in Texas. My sis and BIL lived there when they met. My other nephew (baby's big brother) told his class about him and his teacher calls the baby rocket.
I wanted to make a play off of his name and "Houston we have a problem". Just need to sandwich it and quilt it. I tried several different things on this quilt and hope it isn't too much. The circles on the white strip are reversible appliqued. It was fun but time consuming. Now to attempt to quilt it on my machine! reversible appliqued circles |

That is precious! Love the bright colors and variety of shapes.
I've taught Dallas, Cheyenne, Montana, and of course, Victorias and Virginias - but never a Houston. There shouldn't be two of him in his Kindergarten class! And no girls with the same name either. Both very good things. |
Awesome, that is soooooo cute. I love the bright colours and the "play" on his name. The little guy will treasure it forever.
