Baby quilt number TWO for my other nephew due this fall
4 Attachment(s)
Like I said, I am expecting my first two nephews this fall..this second quilt is for my sister's baby. Unlike my SIL, sis said I could do anything I like, in any color I like. Lots of possibilities, love it! My BIL told me that he loves navy blue. So I thought a little bit of navy blue in the quilt would be nice:o
One of the LQSs was having a sale around that time, and I found the cutest animal squares and had to have them. With the main fabric in hand, I designed the quilt layout. Had extra squares so decided to piece the backing and give them a reversible quilt:) Sister and BIL are overseas and won't get the quilt until mom goes over for the birth of the baby and take it along. Sister decided that she wants it to be a surprise, so no photos were shared, I sure hope they like it. I enjoyed making it a lot and I am very happy with how it turned out. That is soooooo cute! I love the colors and everything about it. Great job!

Your story harks back to the recent thread about how we feel about doing what someone wants us to do as opposed to doing what we want to do.... People should realize that you can tell a painter you'd like a picture of Yosemite Park, but you can't tell her how to paint it. The same is true with quilters who love making a quilt. If you are trying to do what someone has said they want it becomes a burden. What you do has a 99% chance of NOT being what they were thinking. Hope the NIL likes her quilt!
