So my sewing machine completely died last week. I have been without it for almost two weeks. But thanks to the grace of God and a few moves of heaven, I now have TWO machines!

The first one is a 1977 singer that could have gone through a war and still work. It's solid, it's great! I traded my quilting services for this one. I just need to make a lap quilt for the lady's granddaughter.

The second one is a brand spanking new Singer 16 stitch machine. I am not kidding, it's straight out of the box. I will be making a king size quilt for this lady, but it's so worth it, this macine is awesome!

So after I got the first machine back yesterday I went to town and finished this little tote for my friend's babyshower.

Sorry this is so long, but I'm just so happy!

Congrats on your new machine.

Your '77 looks a lot like my old 1975 Singer---it is a workhorse. My daughter is using it now and loves it!!

Those patterns are all from me. I was told what color's to stay in, and the rest of it was me. I would be at the sewing machine playing right now, but for some reason my stomach decided it was going to be upset tonight... BOOOO! Maybe tomorrow!

I love your old machine ! They rock . I hope you have better luck with your singer sew simple than I have ! My hangs up and won't sew , it has issues !!! Give me an old machine anytime . Annie

mrsj82 08-22-2009 01:51 PM

I am a little nervous about the newer Singer...I've read reviews that it doesn't like to work. However until that day happens, I'll be glad to have it. I'm glad I got the old machine too though, because if I have issues with the other one I still won't be out a machine.

*Runs off to play with fabric*
