I was helping a friend of mine with paper piercing and showing him how it was done so he can design his own quilt, and I tried to use the same color fabrics that he is doing his in. At first it was just a sample block to show him, but after doing one, I liked it and decided to make a few more.
He is designing a big star (36x24) for the center of his with other size stars surrounding it. Keep in mind that this is his second quilt. His first one was done under the title "Andrew's quilt". Andrew's was done with the stack and cut method, now this one is paper piercing. He wants to finish the center block first before sizing the outer ones because he has his own ideas of how he wants to do it...........thank goodness for the printers with size controls!! I will post his quilt when it is done. I can't wait to see it myself. But for now, here is the block that I did. Barb |

Awesome....I love the use of color to make it seem 3 dimensional. A
great sewing job also I might add. Keep up the good work. I for one will be waiting to see the quilt. |
Took me a minute to figure out the sequence. Bottom yellow, red swirl, green, red solid, side yellow, blue.
Nicely done. Your friend has a good teacher. Look up Carol Doak's paper pieced stars for more ideas. tim in san jose |
