The Bargello my DH and I hated doing!! Finished at last WITH picture!!!

Ok -so its finally finished!!

This picture does not do the colours justice!

We have agreed not to do another Bargello - it wasn't HARD exactly but its a big quilt - about 100 inches square and it was very monotonous! Even for the two of us working together. The second picture shows the colours better!

valleyquiltermo 04-13-2012 03:17 PM

Looks like you did a good job on it, it sure is bright with that yellow, LOL

EvelynJ 04-13-2012 03:21 PM

Wow, thanks for taking the picture. It is marvelous, big enough for a giant but glorious.

alisonquilts 04-13-2012 03:46 PM

I like the second colorway better (LOL - my computer distorts colors too!). I think it is very beautiful. I haven't tried one yet, but I am planning a bargello now. Yours is lovely. How do you both work on it? (I can't imagine my DH working with me harmoniously on a quilt.)

It certainly shows all the work you did. It will be awesome on any bed.
peace

I think it is beautiful. How you managed to work side by side with hubby is beyond me. I don't even want mine anywhere near me when I am sewing.

fred singer 04-13-2012 04:13 PM

I think that you both did a good job on the quilt

Rock Lady 04-13-2012 04:22 PM

Even though it was a tedious job it really is BEAUTIFUL!

Tweety2911 04-13-2012 04:24 PM

How great to work side by side with DH! Beautiful quilt, lovely colors!

Nettie Phillips 04-13-2012 05:33 PM

So very pretty. I love Bargello's.

Looks like it was a lot of work; congratulations on finishing it - good job!

Homemother 04-13-2012 05:47 PM

You did a fabulous job and the results are incredible! I think you would really like a bargello that has variety. Those are the kind I make - they are somewhat unusual and not symmetrical and I create the designs myself. The stitch in the ditch almost did me in, but I got it done and love the results. Maybe some other quilting would be more interesting.

Thanks for sharing!!!

A very pretty shared quilt. Haven't tried one yet. Waiting for someone to come up with a nice size block just to try.

Congratulations on finishing it. It turned out beautiful. You were lucky to have some help on it. Peggy

Very pretty. My Husband pays no attention to details, therefore he is not allowed to input anything into my quilts. He does like every one I make. I am a one Woman quilter.

Beautiful!!!!!

Dandish 04-13-2012 09:05 PM

So glad the second picture of that gorgeous quilt was there - when I read your post and saw the first pic I thought, uh, yeah, I understand why they didn't like it....LOL. seriously, that's is a very pretty quilt and it does look labor intensive. Good job on gettin'er done.

I feel the exact same way about my DH. I love him dearly but want him g-o-n-e when I'm sewing... LOL! It's wonderful, tho, that you & I yours can work together to produce such a beautiful quilt. And as for its size? Y'know what they say... "go big or go home"... LOL!

nunnyJo 04-14-2012 03:53 AM

I agree with this. Sometimes I ask him about color choices, but that is it. I am so glad that you showed the color correction.

I think it's beautiful. I love Bargello's but I don't intend to make one any time soon. Way too much work for me.

labtechkty 04-15-2012 04:09 AM

I love it...I haven't built up the nerve to start one...

Elaine433 04-15-2012 04:55 AM

quilter68 04-15-2012 08:55 AM

A Bargello is too hard for me. Your quilt is AMAZING! I definetly like the real colors of the second photo.

nannyrick 04-15-2012 11:04 AM

That is a wonderful job. Lots of work, but I,m sure it was worth it. Thanks for sharing.

margecam52 04-15-2012 07:34 PM

Very pretty! I have a bargello pattern book...haven't had time to look at it yet...but do want to try one.

Rose_P 04-15-2012 08:39 PM

Very pretty! It was well worth the effort. It will be the centerpiece of a room.

SandScraps 04-16-2012 12:01 AM

It sure is lovely. We had a class on bargello on Saturday and I am all fired up to do one - a little one!
