The hand quilting on that Iris Quilt was absolutely beautiful. Of course everyone loved it. It's was made by two women. I loved the blue and green mountains too.

I maintain that Patchwork and quilting are real art forms. The pallettes are endelss as are the myriad ways of putting everything together.

pocoellie 03-22-2009 02:14 PM

Some very talented people!!!

Izy 03-22-2009 03:09 PM

CindyFaye 03-22-2009 03:16 PM

Beautiful quilts. I really like the Iris Quilt too! Did they have a pattern for the iris Quilt, or did they just make this on their own.....
The Braid looks like it could be a church parament.

beachlady 03-22-2009 03:19 PM

conblond2005 03-24-2009 07:07 PM

Some berry pie won 1st place. Some kind of pumpkin pie with pecans and heavy whipping cream got 2nd I think. I don't know what got 3rd but it wasn't me. I tasted the coconut cream which I didn't think was very good and a camel custard pie I ate about 2 bites and didn't like it so I tossed it out. That's all I had. The noise was so bad I couldn't wait to get out of there. There were 2 teams of cheer leaders that performed. Just little grade school girls, one dance team of the little ones and a tikondo team did quite a bit of performing.Linda got sick and didn't go so I had to tell them about her spiral and her star quilt and all about mine too. Wish she would have been able to go too but I took the pics and sent them to her. Hope I win that Raffle. I don't know when it's over.

Glad you liked all of them. The girls that did the iris quilt didn't come so I don't know anything about it. I only know it was gorgeous. I'll never had quilt but glad some people do. Good night!

jbsstrawberry 03-24-2009 07:23 PM

SaraSewing 03-25-2009 04:08 PM

Wow, fantastic. I loved the falling leaves. That is one I'd like to work on soon.

JoanneS 03-26-2009 07:06 PM

Thanks for sending the pictures. My favorite is the one with the Irises. I wish you had close ups of it and the one with the pink roses!

Quiltgranny 03-26-2009 08:16 PM

Hi Connie,

I'm another Coloradoan, up in here in Woodland Park. I didn't know you had quilt shows in your small town, that's wonderful!! We'll be having our 3rd annual quilt show this July. I'll post a date when I get it. It would be so nice to meet some other neighbors in the state that are on this board.

I have to admit, my fav is the Irises one, too. Looks like there are many talented folks in your neck of the woods. Keep up the great work!! Thanks so much for sharing!

Happy quilting,

Karla

Hello Karla,

There are a lot of quilters in Colorado. Last year they had a big show down in Denver at the Capital. They had quilts hanging on every floor. I think I have a CD of the quilts there that were on display. Do you ever go to the Denver Shop Hop? That's the next quilt I'm gonna make soon, from the 2008 shop hop. Don't know if I'll ever make it up there but it sounds nice. I have a breathing problem and can't manage to breathe good enough at heights above Denver. Someday I'm hoping to move to sea level. That is if I can get my husband out of Colorado. With the economy the way it is it will be a long time before he can retire. You should come down here to the shop hop though. Keep in touch and I'll let you know when I hear about it. They have 2 buses that will drive you around to all the shops. Last year I missed the bus. I had to drive by myself all over the place. We used to even go to Bergen Park but last year they weren't on the tour I'll PM you my e-mail address..

angieagmw 03-27-2009 09:22 AM

My favorite is the falling leaves...I wish I could do applique. I will try and learn how, when I'm finished with the quilt I am sewing together now..

conblond2005 03-27-2009 09:25 AM

It's not hard to learn. You'll do fine.

Diane007 11-06-2012 04:40 PM
