Blooming Cherry Blossom Ninepatch - in progress
1 Attachment(s)
Some of you may remember that I've been wanting to make a quilt that represents that yummy feeling I get in early spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. At least a year ago, I started collecting fabrics that conveyed that sense of color and light that I absolutely love. You can read the starting challenges here:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...e-t130393.html For the time being, I've settled on the Blooming Nine Patch pattern. The cutting and piecing is very simple; the most difficult part is selecting the 8 required fabrics to make it work. I have 7 -- only six of which are in the photo below. I'm still seeking a mid-tone green/rose combo for the next row out. Thought I'd share my progress. |
Very nice! The color blend is nice.
you might consider a medium grey - pehaps with a touch of pink or green for the last row. The green that is in the print is going to be too dark. Grey might be a nice blend. |
Very pretty and so reminiscent of cherry blossom. Thanks for sharing

Love it. Looks like spring when the beautiful cherry trees bloom.

Great colors......so many pieces!!!! :)

This is going to be a gorgeous quilt. I think working toward that dark green is exactly the right plan since it appears in row six and will be combined with a rose in seven. I hope you will soon find exactly the right fabric for the missing row. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

It is fabulous.. if you need to add a row .. use one of the fabrics you have used the pink or green would work well. Nothing says you can't use a fabric more then once in this pattern.

Or a blue grey color for the sky with the same flowers in the row before. It would give the sense of trees against the sky! Lovely! Luann

That is going to be wonderful. I cannot wait to see what it looks like when you are finished

You have done a great job with your fabric selection! Love what I see so far!!
