bright quilt top
 

I just put the borders on this quilt top. It is bright, but I have decided I like it. I made the center part back in January and decided I didn't like it, it was just too bright. But I was looking for something different to do on this hot day, and just decided to add borders and see what happened. I had so many border choices that it was difficult, but I think I make the right decisions with each of them. See what you think.

oh- i agree you made all the right choices! the borders brought the whole thing together & even calmed it down a bit- i love it! it is summery and very pretty.

Thanks for the positive comments. I am just admiring it here on my design wall. :) I have some fabric selected for the back, so this UFO will be finished in no time! (It is my only UFO...then I will start something brand new!!)

That's lovely! The brights are in the 'cool' range so when you added that dark blue border you tamed it nicely.

I don't find it overly bright. I think it's wonderful!

What's not to like? This looks lovely. What makes a summer quilt? Light colors? Thin batting? Would like to make one but not sure what batting to use. Thanks for sharing. BrendaK
