This was a super easy applique quilt. Each bunny is just one large piece of fabric, except the first one in the second row. I made him out of two fabrics so that he looked like a Dutch Bunny. I stitched the eyes a bit differently in this quilt, I made them "pie-eyed" like the old Mickey Mouse cartoons. I was hoping they would look more old fashioned that way.

Love it! I'm a sucker for applique and 30's fabrics so you are a double winner on this one as far as I'm concerned.

Carrie 03-15-2011 07:54 AM

Love, love, love it! Where did you get the patern?

I love all your applique quilts, but I must ask where do you find all your patterns? Do you draw them yourself, sell them , what?

Really awesome quilt. You have done a lovely job.

The style of the eyes are really effective too - adds to its "period" authenticity :)

GagaSmith 03-15-2011 11:43 AM

I am not very familiar with applique so excuse me if these are dumb questions but: Is it hand or machine appliqued; Did you use needle turn edges or a fusible webbing?
The quilt is beautiful and the applique so even and perfect. thank you for sharing.

roseOfsharon 03-15-2011 11:46 AM

That is just adorable... each bunny has a look all his own!

lileth1374 03-15-2011 11:56 AM

I did the same thing a little while back. I thought, "Wow! She really likes Darcy Ashton's books. She must have ALL of them!" Duh! I felt so silly. You aren't alone!
