i started this in June 2008. it was all done but the border and stippling inside the cats.
i didn't do the butterflies using FMQ. i pinned the printed pattern onto the panel and stitched around it the hard way. in another year and a half i might have the courage to try FMQ butterflies. it's a rectangle. cross my heart. |
COTE, a french braid is on my list of quilts to make.

Cute cute!

Very cute. Your butterflies are great. I recently did one with butterflies and frankly mine suck compared to yours. Hope that's not offensive to anyone, but it's true.
|
i'm spooning up everyone's kindness and really appreciate it. :-)
i like the butterflies, too, but i sure as heck didn't freemotion those little suckers. i made this quilt-as-i-went. i pinned the printed butterfly motifs on paper and stitched around the pattern, foot-down-dogs-up. lots of stopping, shifting, turning. looks good, but takes forever. |
very nice and great job
|
Very nice.

Patrice, your French Braid Fence w/Cats & Butterflies is so gorgeous. The colors are great.
|
very cute and very original to use the braid as a fence design. in fact, very original.
patrice strikes again!! |
I am glad you showed that. I started a french braid quilt and got about half a strip done and was wondering if I am going to bother finishing it. Mine is very scrappy but it gives me an idea of maybe adding applique to it or something. Not sure yet I'm thinkin':-)

That is so cute. Two of my favorites, cats and the french braid pattern. Great job.
