this is only the second pattern that I have ever done other than making squares. and it was really relatively easy. I love the fabric and am using it is another quilt for a friend. But this beauty of a square is going into a baby quilt for a lady at church. she is having a little boy and the boys room is supposed to be apple green and shades of blue. From what she has registered for she is going with a water theme so hopefully it will go in the room okay. even if it doesn't I hope that she likes it. I am actually making this quilt with another lady from church who is in my mommy play group. I can't wait to actually make the whole quilt with my friend. :XD:

I am thinking of making this block again but larger, it is a 12" now but might try to make it 18" or 24" just have to measure the bed it would be going on.

this is the block before i sewed it all together, trying to figure out if the while was what i wanted to go with

Very pretty and impressive. I only hope my 2nd quilt attempt turns out nearly as good.

I attribute my good fortune with this block to startch starch and more starch. and making sure that I kept a close eye on that elusicve 1/4" seam mark on my foot

Here is a link to it. It is Jenny Beyers variation on a Mariners Compass block
