sandpat 04-23-2009 03:29 PM

Darn...just noticed on the screen that the chicken on her chest got its head covered up...oops...I don't have much experience with this stick on applique stuff. I called myself looking very closely before I ironed it down...

I have part of her sewn down now.

sewsewquilter 04-23-2009 03:31 PM

Patti, that's just a shy chicken hiding under the feathers. :)

kwhite 04-23-2009 06:10 PM

I really love all of the chickens I have seen on this site. I collect Roosters. I just have to ask. What is the deal with all of the chicken chat? Are there really that many people into chickens or am I missing an inside joke?

gcathie 04-23-2009 06:54 PM

That's a cutie!!!....:-)

reneebobby 04-24-2009 02:01 AM

I don't know of any inside joke...I have always loved to decorate with chickens. Always an outside kinda person...I've always had lots of animals...horses, cows, dogs, cats...chickens...etc..I don't have any cluckers right now except the ones hanging around my kitchen. So....I really am making a chicken quilt.

Marcia and Mamagus got us all started with their inspirational chicken quilts...go have a look see...I bet you will want to do one too!!

Mousie 04-24-2009 05:35 AM

Patti, she is great, very maternal looking, like a 'mother hen', with the smaller ones. hubby is right...he is sweet to encourage you like that. My hubby means to be encouraging, just he is a darn picker! He should take up knitting. (knit picker, lol) :D
kwhite...got a few projects on front burners, so, my chicken/duck lap quilt is waiting on one of the back burners, to be cooked up. But it is a definite, bc a friend who loves chickens, and HAD three beloved ducks...neighbors three dogs, dug under her fence, while she and hubby were out, and attacked one of the ducks. I owed her a lap quilt anyway, and decided to cheer her up with a chicken/duck project.
So very glad I 'got the bug' and decided to do it. Have my patterns, design, everything all worked out,...was showing to my daughter, yesterday, along with a 'must get done', in a day or so, and she told me, Sue's duck died! I didn't know the poor thing, died. This is really going to mean something to her, even more! Nope, not an inside joke, a bunch of us, have really been egging each other on, to find out how much fun these chickies can be. :D

Debbie1 04-24-2009 05:44 AM

It's so cute, I agree with DH I like her! Can't wait to see more of your chickies!

tslowery 04-24-2009 07:52 AM

I like this one alot. I also liked the one I think Terri did. I love chickens and have them in my kitchen. I would like to make a table topper with some these babies in it. No inside joke I know of just so cute you gotta love them..

quiltsRfun 04-24-2009 08:24 AM

Yup, you did good. Love it.

mimee4 04-27-2009 05:03 AM

Love it  There must be a caption in this somewhere. Something like, don't even think I might lay a pink egg.

ScrapQuilter 04-27-2009 05:09 AM

Can't tell all you gals working on chickens how much I love them.

Been thinking of trying them.......... guess i will have to put that on my list of projects to do.... Just not enough hours in the day.

Love those chickens.

sandpat 04-27-2009 05:09 AM

Oh that would be cute! I am thinking about adding some chicken sayings to my quilt.

Knot Sew 04-27-2009 01:28 PM

Thats really cute, just thkink if we made one quilt with all the chicks, think how big it would be lol :D

k3n 04-27-2009 01:36 PM

Patti, she's a corker! FOUR already eh? I'd better get a move on!
Like the idea of the sayings - I saw one recently, I think on here and then again on a wall hanging in England - 'Hubby rules the roost but I rule the rooster' - something like that!

K x

sandpat 04-27-2009 04:07 PM

Yeah...that was what I am thinking of putting on my border...
