A Christmas Quickie for DGD's Dolly
1 Attachment(s)
Most of my quilts have a story. This one began in 1978 when a friend gave me a darling quilted pentagonal baby ball for my soon to be baby daughter. It was charming, and I saved it with some other baby stuff.
Fast forward to 2009 when she had her own baby daughter. She got to play with the darling ball, too. Now she's 3, so my daughter pulled apart the ball, and realized that the halves made rather cute flower shapes. "Mom - can you make this ball into a dolly quilt for baby's dolls??" So of course, Grandma Joy said yes - long story short, the week before Christmas this dolly quilt came into being. (no comments allowed about my FMQ- it is what it is) |
Great quilt for baby's dolly!!!!! And a great way to save memories

The quilt is perfect! Beautiful story and wished my FMQ were as good.
I hope you don't mind, but I've bookmarked this thread to inspire me to make one of my own. Thanks for sharing. |
That is so cute! And the nice thing about dolly quilts.... when they are outgrown they make wonderful little wallhangings :)
