:D :D :D One project done a few more to go. I like the prairie points and I'm thinking I should have made them a little tiny bit wider. The points are made with the wide end of the ruler. Have a look, Huggies, Fay

Not bad if i say so myself

kristen0112 10-07-2010 12:45 PM

Very pretty! I 'interlock' my prairie points, I like them closer together but spread out it great too :-)

Christmas is right around the corner!! and you are ready!! You did a great job!!

Bobbinchick 10-07-2010 12:55 PM

The pattern for this is on the back of the package my 25"10 degree ruler came in. I like my points to interlock also, but I went with the instructions in the book Quilts Without Corners. It tells how the points are made with the wide end of the ruler so I used that. But it is not bad at all. I was at Joanns yesterday and they have beautiful Christmas fabric out and I wished I had waited and got that, but it was a little expensive. I also looked at other embellishments and such and did not find any thing I liked. I thought about those little white puff things that are fastened to a ribbon or some sort of a band and I didn't really like those. They had nothing much to choose from for Christmas embellishments and such so I went with the points. Have a great day, I'm tired now so I'll go lie down for awhile. Huggies, Fay

So pretty! Christmas time will be here in no time. When you put your tree skirt in place and decorate the tree, post a pic so we can see it.

Bobbinchick 10-07-2010 09:07 PM

I'm planning to give it ot my mother as thier decoration are down south and they are not going down there this year so she will have a nice skirt to put around her tree. I have several others that I have made. A couple of years ago I made a flying geese one and I use that one and it is so pretty too. I don't think it is all that hard to do. You make 6 stradas but you have to stagger 3 to the right and 3 to the laft( it looks like steps) to get the angles of the stripes in the wedges and then following the instructions, you sew two wedges at a timne together and then lay them out and sew the rest together. Leave one seam open. Then I put the backing down and then the top on top of that right sides together and then the batting and then pinned it and sew it and left an opeing on the straight seam for turning and then I turned it. You can quilt it or not quilt it. Using invisiable thread is great you can see it so the quilt looks great. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay
