Ever done something like this - while quilting I left the machine for a minute & when I came back, sat down not noticing the edge of the quilt was on the chair.
The quilt was under the needle & there was a horrible ripping sound. 1" tear in middle of block! Nearly cried! I plan to fmq butterflies in the red HSTs - so after a carefully hand darned repair appliqued a butterfly over it. The tear on the back will have the label over it as it's the edge block. I was lucky it wasn't a bigger rip! |
Well you did a great job at averting that disaster. Your quilt and quilting are lovely.

Good recovery!!! How did that happen?
|
I sat on the edge of the quilt & it pulled away from the needle which was down ... that'll teach me to be more careful, as the repair has taken all afternoon.
|
You turned a near disaster into an "embellishment opportunity"! :D :D
Love your quilt and the quilting you did!! Did you quilt with long arm or domestic machine?? |
thanks CRH, my first go fmq on a lap size. I have a Janome MC6600.
|
Great cover-up though. Good thinking.

Well , it looks like it was covered great... It sure must've been scary tho. Great quilt

It could have been worse, your machine could have toppled  it looks great
