Looks very similar to bento box with the center just a little different.

I agree, I just saw that on a blog not so long ago. Just make the bento box pattern and cut off center. Use the directions in the blog below but make both cuts off center. (2nd installment on the blog, you'll see)

This is exciting ... as it is my quilt!
Here's the original thread where I posted it ...

I made it a few years ago in a class at our LQS using the Slash-A-Stash.
I checked that link to the other blog, and yes, that's pretty much how it was made.
The off centre cutting of the block would be the way to get the effect created in the blocks.
Then sew them all together.
And have FUN randomly laying the blocks into the final setting.

I'll look forward to seeing your quilt ... I hope I don't miss it, when the time comes!

Omgosh!!! Yah!!!! Its a stunning quilt. I just couldn't remember where I had seen it. Thank you for posting the picture and giving me inspiration to make one too!
