I'm looking for a D9P that was posted a while back. It was a disappearing 9 patch that featured a beautiful bird fabric. Don't remember who posted it.

Gail

Not too sure if this is what you are looking for - it's an Irish Chain Cardinal Quilt that Terri made - take a look it's beautiful.

Tisha

Mine was an Irish Chain.
Don't remember seeing a D9P one, but then again, I could have missed it.

Thank you, Tisha, Melanie, and Terri. Yes, those were the ones I had remembered seeing. Don't know why I thought they were the D9P. Probably because that is what I am trying to do with my cardinal fabric. What I really wanted to see was if the fabric had been fussy-cut or was it at "random". It seems to be at random, and it really looks nice. I think I may have spent a lot of time fussy-cutting for nothing. What could have been done with strips, ended up being pretty labor intensive sewing individual blocks together. (Do I sound spoiled to strip piecing, or what???) The 9 patches are done and I have a few of those blocks spliced and resewed into the final blocks. This was a last minute decision to DO IT FOR A CHRISTMAS GIFT. I know, I should have my head examined.

You gals are the best. And you work SO FAST. lol

those cardinal quilts are beautiful. I don't remember seeing them before! I'll have to find some fabric on clearance to try it out!

Good luck with yours'!

Good luck finding it!
I've found that the fabric I like is usually sold out :(

Sorry, I don't "do" pictures. I'm digitally, electronically challenged. Elizabeth A was so kind as to post my t-shirt quilt. And that had come through an email that my DD had sent to me. You gals are just tooooo much. Perhaps when I get this one done, we can try the same thing. It's a long story why I don't have my digital camera right now. But that's for another day. I'll keep it for a day when we all really need a good laugh.

All of the blocks for my Cardinal D9P are done. Tomorrow they get sewed into a quilt top. That will be after I return home from doing tours at The Shadows on the Teche, a National Trust historical home. We are doing a first grade Christmas program for all of the elementary schools of the parish.

By the way, the block are gorgeous -- if I do say so myself. Not perfect, but gorgeous anyway. Haven't decided on whether to use a border or to just bind it. I don't want it to get too big. I used 3 blocks horizontally and 5 blocks vertically. It will be a nice couch size.

The cardinal fabric that I used was purchased when "our" WalMart was closing their fabric dept. I was in there one day and noticed that all of the quilting fabrics were gone. I panicked. The lady working the dept. that day told me that they had only taken the fabrics down and had them grouped on tables. I grabbed a cart and FILLED IT. The next day I went to the WM in a nearby town and did the same thing. I had to buy bins to get the fabric into the house. (Get it??)

I only wish I had bought more of each piece.
