Dear Jane - C's the day! C1, C2, C3
4 Attachment(s)
Back to some easier piecing! Used Freezer paper for accuracy on the first two. Don't really know why on the instructions I found on the internet that C-3 seemed to cause problems!
For that one I cut 2" strips out of my background and focus fabrics and sewed about 24" together. I then cut these joined strips into 2" sections for the 4-patch and the rectangles that join them. It was a simple matter to sew 2 of the rectangles into the center square, sew (2) 4-patch to each end of the other 2 rectangles and join these to the other two sides to complete the block. (Did have to block mine a little) :D |
They are all very pretty!

Good luck with your quilt, your blocks look great.

I love seeing your progression. Some day, some day, maybe, I'll also be a Dear Jane girl! Thanks for sharing.

I've never seen blocking before...can you explain what you have going on there? Looks interesting....

Sure. Learned it a long time ago, I think from Sharon Schamber. I just use foam core board and draw the block size on it (plus a few more lines to help). Use liquid starch in a spray bottle (mine is diluted) to pretty much soak the thing and either stretch it a bit to make it bigger or scrunch it in to make smaller. The starch will make it keep its shape for when you sew it into your quilt. Its a great help!
Here's the only other one I've had to do!
