Made this quilt for a young lady that supplied me with lots of bugs for a batch of wild turkeys. They eat a LOT! Is a disappearing nine patch and was fun and darn quick to do. Found the Debbie Mumm bug fabric at JoAnnes.

That looks really nice. There sure are a lot of different looks with that pattern. I'm going to have to try it.

Ditto on trying the pattern... I just ordered the pattern "Log Cabin Loco" from marlousdesigns.com. A pair of cousins at the local quilt shop I go to are doing it together in batiks and it is gorgeous... from 10 lights and 10 dark fat quarters... A fun one to do they say and not stressful... Night...

I like the colors you used. The D9P is a nice pattern. I also like the wording on the label. She'll be delighted with it.

Dear Bluebird,
Thank you for sharing, and now I have added another project TO DO in this next month as I don't have Workdays at the Post through December.
What a grand quilt for a special friend ... and, from the turkeys, to boot!
I know it will be loved and appreciated. <wave>

Just what I was thinking! Did you use a fabric pen?

bluebird 11-25-2009 06:21 PM

Omak got into some of the "oldies" and brought this up. Thankfully we didn't run over any turkey nests this summer. Have a large flock of turkeys that come into the wheat field, like to think that some of those are some of the seven that we raised. :D

I used my printer and printed out what I wanted to say...found a font that I liked, so many to choose from. Laid my piece of material over the paper and traced with a fabric pen. Have two different brands, LQS recommended them. Since last year have found that the black one will fade. That is a PILOT Precise Rolling Ball extra fine. The red one has been great, stays nice and bright. That is a Pigma Micron 05 it also says Archival ink. Will try to go with that one when I go to get more or different colors.

Happy Thanksgiving all ya Quilters :D
