Perhaps she's keeping it warm for you? You like it, therefore she needs to love it too. :D

My cats are banned from my sewing room. I have one that is obsessed with thread. Meaning he likes to chew it. I think sometimes he's trying to floss his teeth. But it gets stuck on his tongue and he swallows it.
Unfortunately, last year, he had to have emergency surgery. $1500 later, the 10+ lacerations in his intestines were fixed and he is lucky to be alive. The string was found buried under his tongue and throughout this intestines.
Now you can see why he is banned.

Poor Kitty ~ ~
I know one of my new baby's loves the movement of fabric and when I'm working with it she grabs hold and we have to have a talk.
One of my friend noticed her cat was making a strange movement, as if she was going to vomit, she kept doing that and they took her to the vet and found out she had gotten a hold of a threaded needle. The needle was stuck in her throat. The vet was able to remove it. She felt so bad! I make sure my needles are put in my cases.
All three of my furry friend have a basket of their own, but Ms. Paws insists on laying in the middle of my sewing table. She's just a baby so I'm hoping she's realize where she has to be if she's in there with me.

Thanks for your worrning...

Mine loves everything about sewing - making off with strips of fabric, whacking my carefully wound bobbins around, hiding them under the sofa, and carefully applying fur to everything "just in case".

Everything goes better with cat fur, right?

LOL! That's a riot! Do you think the kitty likes it because the machine is warm? Or that you're close to it when you sew? I'm not a cat person, but they really intrigue me.

It is the cat saying "I must be the center of attention" and right now I don't want to be in your lap so I will just make you look at me.

I love my polydactal cat but he uses his extra toes to pull the thread out of the needle, He wraps his paw over the needle and uses that extra toe to grab the thread. When ge gets it he tried to run off with it. I try to keep the door shut when I am not in there. Even when I am in there I am just afraid he will get himself polked by a stray straight pin or get burned on my iron. My last cat actually ate a threaded needle and after several hundred $$$ for emergency surgery we had it removed from his intestine. I learned to keep all threaded needles in a box in the drawer. I know I could ban him from the sewing room however he would just sit at the door broken hearted meowing until I gave up and let him in the room. I just try to keep that room as safe as I can.

My Siamese cat Samurai loved thread too, he underwent surgery to remove it from his intestines and the vet almost lost him during surgery. A year later he got a hold of a cone of thread without my knowing and by the time I realized something was wrong it was too late. Our vet is 3 hours away, Sam passed during the drive down :(

My cat Jazz doesn't have a fetish for thread, but I'm not taking any chances, all my thread is in a drawer.

I didn't see it before. Your kitty is grey and peach isn't she? Those are great colors. :D

Ugh, I saw on one of the pet - vet tv shows them doing an operation to get the needle and thread out, before I started quilting. Two of my cats use the sewing table to come up and beg for lovings rubbing on me and walking around the machine. The last lady - oh she eats Christmas curling ribbon, so for at least 6 years ago that was banned from the house.
