FB Quilt Block Swap with my tiny FB quilt group (3 people)
1 Attachment(s)
This is the first block swap among my small Facebook Quilting group (3 women, 20s, 40s, 60s, 1 each). We each made 12 blocks of our design, 4 to keep and 4 to send to each of the others. I decided to make magic squares from each of the blocks to tie them together and to increase the number of blocks (now 24).

Isn't that just amazing how you can get different blocks and put together such an awesome quilt. Do you have pictures of how the other 2 got their blocks put together? That would really be great to see that.

Quilters Anonymous Block Swap...

Here are my quilt partners' versions with the same exact blocks....let's see if i can get 2 pix up...I think you will agree it is a terrific exercise...to see what different people will do with the same raw materials.... the left version is done by a member who is 20-21, and the one on the right was done by our girl in the middle...late 30s--early 40s...just guessing, but she has teenagers... I have been sewing for 56 yrs and made my first quilt about 50 yrs ago? However, I spent a lot of time under the quilt frames and threading needles for my grandmother and her friends and relatives...way before that! Guess i should say, i did the green/pink stars, 20 yr old did the strip pcd blks and 40 yr old did the green/gold different versions of churn dash/shoo fly....
